Memorial Day weekend Pacific Raceways fans will be back with excitement as the Sports Car Club of America returns to the Northwest. There will be two action packed days of racing on May 29th and May 30th. The weekend race will benefit the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Puget Sound. This year’s event is being presented by Poulsbo RV and Knight Transport LLC. Drivers and crews from in and around the Northwest, Canada and across the country will be competing to acquire points toward the 2021Championship to be awarded at the end of the season.
The cars challenging the 10 turn 2.25 mile road course will be the open wheel variety along with Mustangs, Camaros, Mazda Miatas and Vipers. Also there will be the Porsches, Nissans, Hondas and others. Saturday will consist of Time Trials and Qualifying and racing in the afternoon for all Groups. The last race on Saturday will consist of Group 6 for the “Wild West Race” which looks to be very interesting. Sunday will be a second qualifying session followed by racing competition. With the state in Phase 3 of reopening due to the Covid concern track officials are asking that masks be worn in order to keep everyone safe. By doing your part we can all get through this.
Racing starts each morning at 9:15 AM and continues throughout the day. Our freedom to attend such an event this weekend comes from those that gave the ultimate sacrifice for all of us. Let’s not forget them. Need more information, check out www.pacificraceways.com.
